Be Pliable…

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary pliable is listed as below :

While watching a Matt Chandler Sermon yesterday, I felt the Holy Spirit illuminating something about my core functioning. I felt convicted about the way I approach life, the majority of the time.

I realized that I approach things with a rigid perspective. Whether it’s relationships, listening to a sermon, watching a youtube video, or reading the word; I interact and react in a specific fashion. My perspective has been shaped throughout my life by experiences, education, relationships, hurts, failures, triumphs etc. At my age, these things have solidified to create a sort of framework or outlook on life and living. Let’s imagine that this framework is a cup, a cup made of clay.

So here I am a cup made of clay taking things in, as water (or some other liquid). I merely become a vessel of these things. I am accumulating knowledge within myself. Whatever I take in ( represented by the liquid) takes the form of what is already there (the cup).

I want to take a moment to ask God to shatter all elements of perception that are outside of his influence. Any wounds of the past, habits or hangups that are a part of my foundation that do not glorify him. The things that
